We are all guilty of this at times especially with the smart phone and tablets that make our life easier we have chargers in almost every room in the house with multiple functions for charging our devices, however it is very important (more so in older homes) that we don’t overload the circuit because you could be setting the stage for an electrical fire. Some warning signs of an electrical overload circuit is flickering lights, burning smell and tripping circuits. A hot electrical outlet is a sign of trouble and should be attended to immediately. Find the circuit breaker that controls that outlet and turn it off, unplug all devices that were plugged into the outlet and call a professional to check the outlet. Testing your charging cords can also determine if it’s the actual cord or the outlet. Keep your home and family safe!
