Prepare your Pipes for Winter
Winter is slowly approaching and below freezing temperatures have already begun. It’s important to make sure your pipes are ready. Now is the time to implement procedures that stop pipes from freezing, which can lead to burst pipes and major water damage or flooding within your home.
- Have your plumbing inspected for any leaks or damage. During winter months the water in your pipes gets colder and is more prone to freezing which places more pressure on your pipes. Having your plumbing inspected prior to insulating your pipes.
- Get your water heater checked – in the middle of winter is not the time you want your water heater to go on the fritz. Your plumber can check to assure your water heater is running efficiently. Its also a good idea to insulant your water heater along with your pipes to prevent any additional heat loss which will also help you conserve energy.
