Heavy Rains and Water Damage
12/26/2019 (Permalink)
Winters in the South consist mostly of rain instead of snow. Sometimes rain can set in for days and this can impact your septic system. It is common to have septic back up after or during heavy rains making it impossible for water to flow out of your septic system. When the water has nowhere to go it will eventually back up into drains and toilets in your home that can cause water damage. Signs of stress to your septic system would be surface water is showing ponds of water in the drain area, drains inside your home are not draining as quickly as they should be, toilets are flushing slowly or making sounds. You can relieve pressure on the system by using less water and reduce water going down the drains until the drain field dries out. If you experience water damage in our home, you and trust the experienced team at SERVPRO of Newberry and Laurens Counties to make it “Like it never even happened.”
