October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

The trees may be changing to yellow and red but this month is all about the PINK – October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month – this health campaign is held each year during to month of October organized by many breast cancer charities to increase awareness of the disease and to raise as many funds possible to help with research, prevention and hopefully one day a cure! Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers found in women – but the survival rate is getting higher each year because women are getting mammograms done yearly and early detection is key as doctors can begin treatment.

Check your local community for fundraising activities – get involved in promoting awareness – wear pink and encourage your family and friends to get involved to help raise awareness. Together we can do great things!
