National Hurricane preparedness week officially kicked off on Sunday May 1st by the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) – this is a yearly event is observed each year during the first week in May to help educate better prepare families and business for the threat of a tropical storm or hurricane.  This is especially important if you live in a hurricane evacuation zone.
