The summer heat is taking it’s toll on us here in the south with record high temperatures and very little rain it can have your air conditioning running in overtime driving up your electrical costs. Follow these tips to help you save a little green each month.

• Check your seals on windows and doors
• Check your duct work or have your ducts professionally cleaned (Yes SERVPRO can schedule this for you)
• Install a programmable thermostat
• Upgrade your HVAC unit or at the least have it serviced
• Wash your clothes in cold water
• Change your air filters monthly
• Keep your blinds closed during the extremely hot days and utilize natural light
• Avoid cooking when the outside temperatures are high – yeah we said it .. eat out and support local businesses

Cooler temperatures will be here before we know – so let’s just embrace the Dog Days of Summer.
