Back to School Tips and Tricks

The dreaded back to school week has finally arrived for most of the school districts in our area. The thought that summer has come and gone can leave our kids feeling sad, and some parents being happy. The family schedule will change for everyone – from dinner time to bedtime. Either way preparing for this time is key to a successful transition back to school.
- Keeping a routine can lower the anxiety level for everyone.
- Prepare as much as possible the night before – pack bookbags, lay out clothing and prepare lunches to save time in the morning
- Create a family calendar – time management is key – especially if your child participates in sports – log practice schedules and games – and rely on a carpool with other parents to help take the stress of dropping off and picking up from practice schedules.
- Allow extra time in the mornings for everyone to adjust to the new schedule and those morning meltdowns that you know are going to happen.
Enjoy these milestone moments!
