September is National Preparedness Month – this event is observed each year to raise awareness to the importance of preparing you and your family for an emergency that could come at any time. Planning today could save your family much un-needed stress in the event of an emergency.
- Set up alerts on your phone or email of emergency alerts and warnings
- Have a shelter plan in place
- Know your evacuation route
- Coordinate a family communication plan
- Review and update necessary items in your emergency kit
- Assure daily medications are filled and available
- Don’t forget the needs of your 4-legged family pets
- Protect Critical Documents (Birth certificates- Social Security Cards – Insurance cards)
- Educate your children on the importance of the emergency plan and their role in the process
Protect the life you have built and prepare for the unknown.
