Packing up and heading out for the much-needed vacation you and your family deserve is exciting – threading through those winter months to finally enjoy some sun and fun is much awaited – but don’t forget to make sure your home is vacation safe!

Summer storms can come out of nowhere so prepare your home in the event a storm should come while you are away. Stage your home like you are not away at all. Ask a neighbor to pick up your mail. Set your lights on a timer. Leave the extra car in the driveway, cut your lawn prior and secure all patio furniture and outdoor décor prior to your departure.

Turn your toilet valves and ice makers off to avoid water damage. Unplug your appliances and electronic devices in the event of a severe storm.

Preparing your home before your departure will ensure a worry-free vacation ahead.
